VRS Foods opens exclusive showroom in Agra

New Delhi/ Agra. VRS Foods Ltd, a premier Delhi-based dairy product manufacturer, has opened its first exclusive showroom in Agra.

Talking to mediapersons on the launch, Narendra Singh Nagar, director (operations), VRS Foods Ltd, said the company had been in the business of dairy products for the last 40 years and was currently manufacturing pure ghee & skimmed milk powder in bulk and consumer packs, dairy whitener, table butter, white butter, de-mineralized whey powder, casein edible and industrial grade, apart from pasteurised milk. The company is the second largest milk distributor in Delhi.

Nagar said the company’s products, marketed under the brandname “Paras”, had found wide acceptance as raw materials among renowned food products manufacturing companies like Nestle India Limited, SmithKline Beecham, Hindustan Lever Ltd and Mother Dairy and the company had even begun exporting casein powder which resulted in the company’s turnover touching Rs 500 crore this fiscal year.

He said the company had a very strong rural procurement network, comprising more than 3,000 villages across western Uttar Pradesh and at present, it operated five state-of-the-art manufacturing units complying with ISO 9001-2000 and HACCP standards of system implementation with a total handling capacity of 1.9 million ltrs of milk a day.

Besides, he said the company was the only player in north India to market bactofuge quality milk and the first player in the private sector to offer homogenized toned milk through automatic milk vending machines and FRP tanks.

He said the company also offered free home delivery facility of its products purchased through its online shop in the cities of its operation.

On Wednesday, the British government 'de-recognized' the Gaddafi government and decided that it was in the interest of democracy to recognize the Libyan rebels as the only legal representative of the Libyan people. Immediately after that, the British Police entered the Libyan embassy in London and forced the remaining Libyan diplomats out of UK. Faced with the task of developing environment-friendly technology for industry due to guidelines issued by the Supreme Court, entrepreneurs in Agra are realising the cost-effective potential of such technologies and innovations. Govardhan Udyog is one such unit which plans to use a non-conventional raw material, cowdung, to produce particle board and pharmaceutical products. The unit was inaugurated this week on the Agra-Delhi national highway near the Mathura refinery, about 55 km from Agra. Company sources said the basic raw material used in the manufacture of particle board will be cow dung.
