'Mulayam hand in glove with criminals' - Kalyan

Agra. BJP Vice-President Kalyan Singh has accused UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh of being "hand in glove" with terrorists and criminals.

Addressing a "Jan Chetna Rally" organised at the BSNL stadium in Agra on Sunday, Kalyan Singh said under the Samajwadi Party's regime, people who should be behind the jails were sitting in the Assembly. The BJP had decided that anybody, who had even a slightest blemish on his character, should not get a ticket in the upcoming elections even if the party had to sit in Opposition yet again.

He said the BJP had never abandoned its directive principles. The Ram Temple in Ayodhya would be constructed as planned earlier.

He said Mulayam Singh was terrorising the people of the State to prevent the downfall of his Government. But his party would fall prematurely and within 90 days of being elected to power, the BJP would completely overthrow the reign of terror and crime in the State.

He said while Mayawati gave birth to criminals in the State, Mulayam Singh gave them shelter and there was no difference in the two.

Earlier, addressing the assembled crowd, UP BJP president Keshrinath Tripathi said Mulayam Singh had made it a practice to make understatements of every major incident.
He said the Samajwadi Party had turned into a criminal gang and was actively engaged in extortions and murders. No party, except BJP, had bothered to raise its voice against the continual deterioration of law and order.

He said it was now an established fact that Mulayam Singh was supporting terrorism in establishing its foothold in Uttar Pradesh through his policy of Muslim conciliation and was adept in giving "clean chits" to criminals in the sanctum of the State Assembly.

He said terrorism had become a global problem and it had become firmly established in 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh. But Mulayam Singh claimed that he did not bother terrorism, which indicated that he had some vested interests, a fact that was firmly accentuated by the removal of the DGP who had indicated the spread of terrorism in UP.

He said whenever there was an attack on the Hindu religious beliefs, whether it was Ayodhya or Varanasi, the State Government had prior intelligence information. But Mulayam Singh never bothered to put a check on the terrorist activities. Whenever attacks took place, he did not even bother to visit there.

He said the party leadership had decided that since the SP was full of criminals, BSP was nowhere on the ground and was also teeming with criminals, the BJP would form no pre- or post-poll alliances with any other party in the State and contest the elections on its own.
