Agra, 1 Nov. Mobile subscribers in UP West & Uttaranchal will have more options to choose from with Hutch making its entry in the circle as the fifth player on Monday.
In a region, where four major telecom companies - BSNL, Reliance, Idea & Airtel are already fighting for a piece of the cake, Hutch is confident that despite making a late entry, it shall make its presence felt felt in the region with the largest Hindi-spoken population of the country, through its special range of Hindi-language options including IVRS, SMS & Bills for its subscribers.
Talking to the media persons in Hotel JayPee Palace, Agra after the formal launch of Hutch on Monday, Asim Ghosh, Managing Director, Hutchison Essar, said that Hutch, a 32 billion dollar company, is the pioneer in mobile telephony in the world and in India, it is providing world-class services in 9 states catering to the communication needs of over 25 lac subscribers in North India alone. He said that Hutch is not new for UP as the company is already operating in the UP (East) telecom circle with 7 lac subscribers to its credit and now, at the very start of its services, the company is offering a wide cellular network covering 140 cities in UP & Uttaranchal.
Asked about his perception of the mobile telephony market in UP west, Mr. Ghosh said that UP west, including Uttaranchal has an immense untapped potential of new mobile users and the company shall first try and create new subscribers for itself, instead of depending upon migrant subscribers.
He said that Hutch is the first GSM based mobile service provider to offer GPRS, Full-motion video, TV shows & POP based email on mobiles, providing the latest range of
multimedia mobile services like mobile gaming, Mandi rates, Arti, Bhajans & Astrology updates by dialing specific numbers.
