Agra. When parents leave their child at school for the first time, they believe that their darling is in the safe hands of his teachers who will be his second family for the duration he is in school.

But the parents' trust in schools was breached last week in Agra when the middle-aged brother of a school principal attempted to rape an eight-year-old girl student inside the school campus.
Badly bruised from the rape attempt , the girl managed to escape the clutches of this monster by rushing into a neighbouring house. The police have now filed a case of attempted rape against the accused.

According to Jagdish Chand, Inspector-in-charge, Sadar Police Station, on Tuesday, the residents of Pak Tola in Tajganj were startled to see a stark naked schoolgirl come running out of the local Luv-Kush convent school and seek shelter in a nearby house, where the women of the house.

When the girl came out of the shock of this ordeal, she told the most horrifying tale of the danger schoolkids face in small two-room schools that have been mushrooming in the city over the past few years.

According to the child, she had gone to the school to get her annual results when she was accosted by the school principal's brother Ram Gopal.

At the school, Ram Gopal told her that the results were kept in a room on the upper floor and asked her to accompany him. As soon as she entered the room, Ram Gopal caught her, stripped her of her clothes and tried to rape her but somehow, the girl managed to kick her way out of the room and the school, saving herself from the clutches of her assailant.

The girl said that she had trusted Ram Gopal as he was the Principal's brother and now she would find it difficult to trust any teacher again.

Later, the locals managed to catch Ram Gopal cowering inside the school and after giving him a good thrashing, handed him over to the police.

However his family managed to get him freed from the lockup claiming that Ram Gopal was mentally sick and would be admitted for treatment at the Agra Mental Asylum..

According to Jagdish Chand, the police has filed an FIR against Ram Gopal under 376, 511 IPC and if the mental asylum's report indicated that Ram Gopal was sane, he shall be sent to jail.
