Journalism, not Management is the buzz-word for Indian youth now.

INDIA (Agra), 06 Dec. In the changing world scenario, the field of Journalism holds new promises & career opportunities for the young generation and it is the growing trend among youngsters of India to choose journalism as their profession, instead of entering a management school.
With the advent of Print, Visual & Virtual (PVV) journalism, the demand for trained journalists is growing by the day which still needs to be fulfilled through a world-class institute. To cater this demand, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra has decided to revamp its journalism courses through a tie-up with the Pioneer Media School which is currently running its journalism courses in Delhi & Lucknow.
Talking to mediapersons on Monday, the University V-C Prof. A.S. Kukla said that the Kanhiyalal Maniklal Munsi Institute of Hindi and Linguistics is the oldest institute of the University, running master’s courses in journalism, but the structure of these courses does not correspond to the needs of new-age journalism and the need for completely revamping the course structure was being felt for long.
Now, with the University Grants Commission providing a grant of Rs. 50 lacs for the expansion of the KMI, the journalism courses being run by the University can get the advantage of new advancements in the field of journalism. He said that a separate building is being planned for running the journalism courses and a well-equipped media-lab is the process of development to enhance the professional skills of journalists this University produces.
He said that the university is also planning for a tie-up with the the Pioneer Media School to provide professional faculties, facilities and on-job training to the budding journalists of this University, along with job opportunities. He said that linking with a professionally oriented organization like The Pioneer would also mean interfacing to a vast pool of knowledge and experience that would ultimately benefit the students who would turn out to be excellent journalists in the future.
