Campaigning Wonder Balloon vanishes in the No-Fly zone over Taj

INDIA (AGRA), 3 Dec. They promise you the world and won't deliver a speck of dirt. Barely twenty-four hours after promising three-months of hot-air balloon flights over the Taj Mahal on Wednesday, the Delhi based Aero Adventure Club folded its tents and when adventure-seeking tourists reached the Taj Nature Walk in hope of a memorable ride over the Taj, they had to return disappointed, learning that the flights over the Taj simply could not happen due to a no-fly restriction around the Taj.

The Delhi based Aero Club had flown the gigantic "Seven Wonders" balloon from the Taj Nature Walk on Wednesday when the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai had announced the re-nomination of the Taj Mahal to the new list of seven wonders of the world. Speaking on this occasion, Anita Yadav, the convenor of this event had announced that the "Wonder Balloon" shall be available for joy-rides at the Taj Nature Walk for three months in collaboration with the UP Tourism Department to promote voting for the Taj Mahal, but as soon as Aishwarya left Agra, the balloon disappeared lock-stock and barrel.

Citing the reasons behind the disappearance of the balloon, Agra district magistrate Nitishwar Kumar said that the ballooning had to be postponed by the organizers due to some technical reasons and it shall return to the Taj Nature Walk soon.

It is noteworthy here, that directly above the Taj Mahal is a "No-Fly zone", which is applicable even for the Air Force aircrafts and the flights of the Wonder Balloon had been restricted to tethered sorties 100 ft. above the Taj Nature Walk only by the Agra Air Traffic Control, making the balloon flight lose attraction, which could have been a possible reason of the Organizers choosing to depart from Agra.

Faced with the task of developing environment-friendly technology for industry due to guidelines issued by the Supreme Court, entrepreneurs in Agra are realising the cost-effective potential of such technologies and innovations. Govardhan Udyog is one such unit which plans to use a non-conventional raw material, cowdung, to produce particle board and pharmaceutical products.
